Hey friends – I have been really struggling lately with decorating decisions.
You may think I’m totally insane after we couldn’t wait to get rid of the flower power wallpaper in the bathroom but I reallyyyy want some pretty, modern wallpaper in my house. If I knew we would be in this house for more than just another year, I’d probably get a little crazy with the wallpaper. I would just walk around my house picking out walls to adorn. I’d wallpaper my entryway or maybe my guest room, definitely Millie’s room. 🙂
But, military life. We’ll be moving again in 12-16 months so it doesn’t make sense to wallpaper all the things.
However, all is not lost on the wallpaper front folks because have you seen the beautiful options for removable wallpaper? You guys! I was blown away! Temporary wallpaper has come a long way. I started searching for some temporary wallpaper for Millie’s room a few weeks ago and there were so many great choices! I found tons of pretty blue prints that would look amazing in my office so now I have two walls in my house that will be getting a temporary wallpaper treatment.
Here’s what I’m thinking:
My office: It has a chair rail so I’d put the wallpaper just on one wall above the chair rail. It would be a great focal wall, it’s behind my desk. I think it would be fun way to add some color and visual interest.
Millie’s room: So poor Millie still hasn’t gotten a decorated space. At this point, I could probably wait until she can talk and give me some input. Just kidding. Sort of. I’m thinking of doing a focal wall with temporary wallpaper in her room as well. It would be the full wall her crib is on. I’d love to do a pretty floral print that’s super girly but also bright and fun.
Okay – onto the wallpaper! It’s super easy to get sucked into the time warp that is searching for products online. Seriously, I’ve been down the temporary wallpaper rabbit hole more than once in the last few days – I can’t get enough of all the pretty patterns! One thing I have noticed is that wallpaper is not cheap. If you can find a paper that is removable AND reusable, consider that especially if it’s for just a short time. Also, if you find a wallpaper that you love that you can’t stop thinking about but would really love a temporary option, I found this incredible idea for making any wallpaper removable wallpaper. It might be just the trick!
