Breakfast Nook in Spring

Happy Friday friends!

A few blogger friends and I are swinging open our doors for a quick tour of what our homes are looking like this spring. Here’s a hint *lots of spring blooms, color, and coziness*  The sweet, and completely lovely Marty from A Stroll Thru Life, is hosting this tour and she has once again amazed me by curating the most fabulous group of bloggers!

If you’re new to this corner of the blog-o-sphere, welcome! If you are stopping in from Vel’s place – Life & Home at 2102, so glad you are here! I’m Chelsea, I’m a mom of two little girls. As you might imagine, I spend most days playing My Little Pony or “baby” with them. Whenever I do have a free moment, my mind is usually wandering thinking up ways I can decorate (and re-decorate) our suburban Florida home. If you like decorating but aren’t crazy about spending a lot of money, I think you’ll find yourself right at home.

On to the tour (that’s what you’re here for isn’t it?)

I’m excited to share my favorite room in our home today. Our breakfast nook is really the heart of our home. We enjoy all of our meals here. We also sit and chat, play games or the girls will play here while I’m fixing dinner in the evenings. I love this space.

Lots of things in this space are new since I last shared pictures of our breakfast nook. First, we painted the kitchen and breakfast nook. I spent years fighting against white but I am now embracing it. The previous color was a little bit too cream/yellow for me so last month we painted this space, White Heron by Benjamin Moore. I love how much it has brightened up this space. I would never have imagined that just that bit of color on the walls made this space feel so much darker. I also found curtains for the window at TJ Maxx. And I added that cute little print that I found at Target.

I almost always have a tablecloth on the table in here. I love this one with the embroidered trim.

This bank of cabinets to the left is dubbed our dessert station. We almost always have dessert in our house because we’re a bunch of sweet tooths.

I did put together a simple tablescape with some spring elements but I will be honest and tell you that it latest a total of 7 minutes. I will bring it all back out for Easter, though.

I made these splatter painted Easter eggs and they look adorable in the egg cups I found at TJ Maxx. Since the eggs are faux, you could put a small cut in the top of the egg and slide in a name card and make them place cards. I think that would be really cute.

For the napkins, I tied DIY pom poms around them with bakers twine for quick and easy napkin rings. I use these to make pom poms super fast and easily.
