Summer Decorating – Summer Home Tour Part 1
Hey friends! It’s home tour day, part one of my summer home tour! Home tours are such a fun part of blogging. As a reader, it’s a great way to get summer decorating ideas. If you’ve ever wanted to take a peek around some of your favorite bloggers’ homes, today [this whole week actually] is your day! The lovely Marty from A Stroll Thru Life coordinates this tour for us each season and it’s wonderful to be a part of. If you are hopping over from Driven By Decor, then you are probably still blown away by Kris’s decor. She always leaves me with all the heart eyes. I’m glad you are here.
I love summer! It’s heating up here in Florida and it’s been feeling like summer for some time now. We are currently thankful for neighbors with pools and all of the popsicles that are overflowing from our freezer.
If you’ve ever been in a sauna then you know what I mean, hi humidity. Anyway, enough weather talk, come on in!
Our entryway is a great drop zone for us. We built this organizer last summer as a West Elm knock off. It’s still one of my favorites.

Our home is really open and the entryway leads right into our living room.
Do you have go to summer decorating ideas? I love changing up the decor in here as the seasons change. I usually switch out things like throw pillows, and blankets, bring in seasonal flowers and even try out new rugs.
This is the first time I didn’t get a chance to make some new throw pillows before the tour since I’ve been busy finishing up the master bedroom makeover (oh and I have two wild littles – that’s a solid excuse, right?).
I stuck with my ever faithful mix of navy blue and white. It’s timeless in my eyes but it definitely pops in the summer giving that coastal vibe.
The large [huge] chalkboard was a DIY I made for one of our old houses (we move a lot) to hid an ugly cut out that I didn’t like. It’s served us well in every house since then.
I do love bringing in seasonal greens.
Like these beautiful philodendron leaves from my backyard.
This little cabinet makes a handy little drink station for all of the summery beverages.
Part two of my home tour is all about my backyard. I can’t wait to share it with you in the coming weeks. For now, you’ll want to check in with Summer at Simple Stylings for even more summer decorating ideas, and prepare to be wowed! Have a great day!

Such a beautiful home.
Can I make one small suggestion? the stripes on the sides of your blog are VERY distracting on a large monitor.
Thanks for letting me know, Rachel!! 🙂

Thanks, Emily!! xo
I love!!! I am introducing Navy into our living room and I just purchased dish towels like what you have pictured. They now are my new curtains in my kitchen.
