French Toast Bake

  • 1/2 cup melted butter plus a few additional pads of butter for the top
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 12 slices of Texas Toast crust cut off, optional
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cups milk I used fat free
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon
  • Sprinkle of white sugar


  • In a small bowl, stir brown sugar into the melted butter and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, beat eggs, milk, and vanilla together.
  • Spray a 9x13 casserole dish with non stick cooking spray and cover the bottom of the dish with half of the brown sugar and butter mixture.
  • Add an even layer of Texas Toast pieces to cover the dish (six slices).
  • Pour half of the egg and milk mixture evenly over the bread.
  • Spread the rest of the sugar and butter mixture over top.
  • Then top with another layer of Texas Toast and egg and milk mixture.
  • Place a few pads of butter over top and sprinkle with some cinnamon and white sugar.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350. And bake for 45 minutes. Serve with powdered sugar, and fresh strawberries.
