Life Lately - Haven Conference and More

In an effort to share a little more real life, I’m starting a new series called Life Lately. I’m hoping to get one of these up once a week or every other week as a fun way to connect with you!

Life Lately has been pretty crazy, this may have been the busiest summer ever. We’ve traveled a lot and just finished our last trip of the summer, Haven Conference.

Haven Conference is a blog conference dedicated to bringing together home decorating/DIY bloggers, relevant brands, and speakers/teachers for a long weekend of inspiration and learning. I went as a new blogger three years ago and have gone every year since. Bloggers spend tons of time behind the computer and a lot of the time we only get to connect with our “blogger friends” at opportunities like this so when I get to see my best blogging friends (who are actually my real amazing friends) I am just in my element. We spent tons of time chatting and laughing!

Life Lately Haven Recap-2

My girls and I outside a cute thrift store. Check out that grin from P. I mean seriously.

This year, I also brought along my whole crew. After two previous years of just breezing in and out of Atlanta I kind of wanted to get a chance to experience the city a little bit. So, Matt and the girls tagged along and we arrived a day before the conference so we could do a few touristy things like visit The World of CocaCola, check out their local thrift store game, and eat all of the foods. I regret not taking more pics on my phone! I was SnapChatting the whole while but didn’t save any.

We especially loved this thrift store called My Favorite Place. It really was my favorite! They had rows and rows and more rows of stuff. Anything you could possibly be looking for and great prizes too! Some things I wanted but didn’t buy were a gorgeous brass lamp, all the beautiful antique wooden chairs, and antique bronze flatware. I did walk away with a pair of brass candlestick holders, some brass bookends for Peighton’s room, and this super cute blue and white jar.

Although it was exhausting bringing the girls along, it was also so fun! Peighton is really interested in what mommy does and always asks about “my bloggers” so for her to get to meet them in person was really fun! Of course, the highlight of my trip was seeing all of my people.

Life Lately Haven Recap-6

My sweet friend Abby and me on our last evening

I’ve met the most amazing group of people through blogging. Not only are they amazingly talented, they are all just so dang sweet! Love each of them to bits.

If you’ve ever thought about starting a blog… even for a second, let me encourage you! You will not regret it. The friendships alone are worth it but having that creative outlet is everything! START A BLOG – it will be the best decision you’ve ever made.
