25 Christmas Books for Preschoolers
Our nighttime routine since the beginning has always included a book. I love reading aloud to the girls and once November hits, I’m ready to get out the Christmas books. There are just so many good ones that we like to enjoy for two whole months. One really fun thing is to do a Christmas countdown with books, beginning on December 1st. I’ve put together a list of our favorite Christmas books for preschoolers which would be perfect for a countdown like that.
Christmas Books for Preschoolers
We love love love books, especially holiday-themed ones. Once the holidays hit, we stuff our bookshelves with all of the holiday books we love and the girls pick one or two to reach each night. A Christmas book countdown like my friend April does is so fun but I can’t bring myself to wrap 25 books. Instead of wrapping all of the books, I leave the books in a basket near the tree and my girls pick them out to read throughout the day or at nighttime.
Reading aloud is really important to our family. Besides being great for kids, I love reading to them and connecting to them through books. I love the way Millie memorizes the words on the pages without being able to read. I love how excited they get to pick a book each night. Reading with your kids is really so special.
I suggest starting a collection by purchasing just a handful of new books each year. You don’t have to go out and buy 25 books for Christmas. I’d also explore the books that your library offers as well as audiobooks. We love listening to audiobooks in our house. We listen to them in the car and at mealtimes.
I buy a handful of new Christmas books each year so now we’ve got a pretty good stash of Christmas books going. These are my most recent purchases – Peighton is really into Fancy Nancy right now and who can’t resist that mischievous pig, Olivia.
I’m sharing a list below that are all great Christmas books for preschoolers. These are all books that we personally love as a family and I feel good sharing with you and your kiddos.
