But won’t I miss it…
Today’s post is sponsored by Thymes, but my love for their holiday fragrances is all my own!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a real tree. Even as a young girl I remember going to the Christmas tree lot and picking out the perfect tree. As the only child, I always had the very important job of picking out the tree. I took it seriously, and always insisted on the fullest tree I could find. Once Matt and I got married, we carried on the tradition of going together to pick out our tree.
I’ll never forget our first Christmas in Hawaii, driving home with big ol’ tree strapped to the top of our little red car. We laughed about how insanely hot it was that day, Matt was in shorts and flip flops and I’m pretty sure we headed to the beach later that day! Christmas in Hawaii…
We’ve continued the “real tree” tradition every year until this year. The last two years were challenging. One, Matt was deployed, so getting a tree home all by myself was a challenge I wasn’t really up for. I waited until just a few days before Christmas to tackle it, the pickings were slim but we found a nice full tree, and because we got it so late in the season, they gave it to us free! Last year, I was so anxious to get my tree, we went out as soon as we could find an open Christmas tree lot! But because we purchased it so early it was dead long before Christmas Day.
I’ve always considered getting a fake tree but I always think, but won’t I miss it… the freshness, the smell, the tradition.
This year, I finally did it.
Once I purchased the tree, I immediately thought, “What about the fresh Christmas tree smell? Won’t I miss it?”
It was absolute perfect timing that Thymes offered to send me a box of products from their Home Fragrance collection, Fraiser Fir. to sample. Let me tell you, just opening the box made me completely forget about the fact that my Christmas tree came from a box. It felt like it had just been dragged in from the Christmas Tree lot.
Thymes Frasier Fir is a holiday favorite with a crisp aromatic snap of Siberian Fir needles, heartening cedarwood and earthy sandalwood form a refreshing bed of crisp, just-cut forest fragrance that feels cozy and comforting. Simply put, it smells just like you would expect Christmas to smell!
What I love about Thymes is that, they opts for natural, high-quality, plant-based ingredients instead of chemical ingredients whenever possible.
My favorite products from the line are these Frasier Fir candles. They smell lovely burning in my living room as we watch the twinkling of our Christmas Tree. The holiday season is almost here!
