DIY Wall Shelving
It’s amazing what DIY wall shelving can do for a space, or for a person… Seriously. I’ve never been so happy to stare at a wall. I was cooking dinner last night and just couldn’t take my eyes off my new wall shelving. Besides being completely lovely, it’s something we made, which totally beats store bought shelves any day of the week!
Today, I’m giving you a little peek at the DIY wall shelving we created. Then later in the week, I’ll post the tutorial so you can make one too!
So, there was this ugly blank wall in my dining room. It gets some attention being that it’s really visible from the kitchen. I’ve been planning to do something about it for ages. At first I thought maybe a plate wall. I even collected a few plates, but then I saw the most gorgeous of gorgeous wall shelving units at Anthropologie. It was stunning. It took up the entire wall, and looked like the shelves were suspended with rope. Fabulous. They had it stacked with beautiful dishes, and I was in awe. Then, I decided that’s what my wall needed. So we built it.
Of course my version is much smaller to fit my dining room wall but I can’t be more happy with the way our DIY wall shelving turned out. It fills up the blank wall beautifully and gives me an opportunity to display all of my kitchen knick knacks.
For a long time some of my favorite pieces have been hidden away in my buffet cabinet or out in the garage, so it’s so nice to have them all on display!
Here’s a peek into the details. Most of the trinkets are finds from flea markets or garage sales. For a pop of color I added the vintage blue colored ball jars. I love the bright blue color.
Thanks so much for taking a peek at my DIY wall shelving! Come on back later in the week for the full tutorial so you can build your own!
