[DIY] Chalkboard Countdown Sign
Hi friends! Are you still with me? I hope so! Please excuse my absence. I just spent 10 days back home visiting family. It was a great trip but of course, I needed a vacation from my vacation. I took a few extra days off to get my house back in order and my kiddo back on schedule. How about you guys, how was your weekend? I hope all of you had a fabulous VETERAN’S DAY holiday!
I’m excited to share a new project with you guys! This fun and simple DIY Chalkboard Countdown Sign is just too easy and functional not to share.
In my house, it seems like we are always counting down to something. Holidays, birthdays, visitors, vacations, HOMECOMING. And with deployments it’s always easier to count down to one event at a time. Small milestones makes 7-8 months seem more manageable. Mil spouses, am I right?
This cute little countdown sign is for everyone and for all occasions!
I had been wanting to play with chalkboard paint for awhile so I ended up painting an old wooden sign we had laying around the house with chalkboard paint. I originally hung it up in our gallery wall plain. I wrote little notes on it here and there but it needed something more.
The old wooden sign had white lettering on it so it took about three coats of chalkboard paint to cover.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to create the countdown graphic.
It’s such a quick and simple project but it’s really a lot of fun!
For now, we are are counting down to Christmas, but there is a big ol’ day next year we’re pretty excited about.
What are you counting down to?
