Fall Breakfast Nook

As we inch farther into fall, I’m getting more and more excited about all of the seasonal fun. Pumpkin patches, apple picking, and even the holidays are just around the corner. This weekend I spent some time playing around in the breakfast nook and bringing in some fall decor.

I love using this space to bring some seasonal decor into the house. We do use this space quite a bit so I love having it ready to go at all times.

And by that I mean, having pretty dishes at the ready for breakfast pastries. No, we don’t always have delicious looking croissants sitting around (we do have a dog!) but in my dream world, I totally would. For now, I leave my favorite dishes sitting out, and when we have guests (or a blog photoshoot) I bring out the pastries 🙂

During the holidays, it’s kind of nice to have everything “guest ready.” We don’t get a ton of unexpected visitors but when we do, I love that I can easily invite them to sit, and feel comfortable, and enjoy a beautiful space.

I mentioned I like leaving my favorite dishes out. Since I don’t have a hutch to display pretty white dishes, I use them on the table in the breakfast nook. I love these scalloped porcelain dishes from the Better Homes and Gardens lines at Walmart. They are simple yet elegant and I really enjoy them. They are a total upgrade from the usual paper plates we sport around here (shhh…).

Another cute little thing that caught my eye from the Better Homes and Gardens line was this fall foliage serving bowl set. They will be the perfection addition to any fall or Thanksgiving table, don’t you think?

The serving tray is another Better Homes and Garden line find, It’s great for holding dishes. I can see using it as a centerpiece even, holding pumpkins and gourds. I added a little greenery to mine for a bit of color. Since this area gets action all year long, having a tray like this that makes it easy to transfer the dishes to the buffet when my little girl wants to sit at the table for a project, is golden!
