The Best Coffee Table Books
I don’t know when it happened but at some point, I became obsessed with coffee table books. Actually, I think I do know when it happened. Matt and I used to always drive up to Solano Beach when we lived in San Diego and there was the cutest home decor and gifts shop on Cedros Avenue. They had the best coffee table books and we would literally spend hours browsing through them. Every few months I buy one or two relevant coffee table books to add to my collection. I’m in love with a variety of coffee table books because they are incredible to decorate with plus they are useful and inspiring. You will find coffee table books all throughout my home. The best coffee table books are ones that are both beautiful and inspring.
Beachy books are my go-to. I love books about beaches and beach houses and even lifestyle books about beach life. I think the best coffee table books can be inspiring as much as they are simply beautiful. Sometimes I buy books because the cover is perfect for decorating. Other times I buy books because I’m totally inspired by the content.

I love Gray Malin’s photography. Matt got me the book Beaches for Christmas last year and I was hooked. His latest book, Escape is so beautiful and the imagery is inspiring. I love looking at all of the gorgeous images but also reading more about Gray’s perspective behind each shoot. Flipping through the pages, my vacation wishlist grows.
Mark D. Sikes – Beautiful All-American Decorating and Timeless Style
Design books are some of my favorite and this one celebrates timeless design with lots of imagery with layered, textured spaces that are absolutely beautiful. This book gives me major inspiration whenever I need a spark.
Nina Freudenberger – Surf Shack
This book has the perfect cover. The blue and white are perfect in my decor. It combines lifestyle and design in a more authentic way. I gravitate heavily to coastal style, not just decor but lifestyle. I enjoy a more casual and relaxed home and this book marries a gorgeous design with the surf culture and it portrays some gorgeous inspiration.
Emily Henderson is a design goddess and while her style is more modern than my own, her book is full of fantastic inspiration and great tips. Also, the spine of her book is gold and makes for a fantastic side table accessory!

What are your favorite coffee table books?
Chelsea, I know exactly where the Cedros Design Center is in Solana Beach. For 16 years we stayed at a resort in Carlsbad and about every other year would go spend several hours shopping and have lunch there. We have several home accessory items from there. It’s a great spot. Thanks for the book recommendations. I love bi books too. They make great traveling souvenirs.
