Halloween Treat Mix or Boo Mix
This Halloween treat mix is a perfect salty and sweet combination for an after school snack or a movie night treat.
We’ve got a list of treats to make and hand out to friends this fall and our favorite Halloween treat mix is one of them. The girls like to call it “Boo Mix” and we love making this fun treat during the fall season. I surprised the girls with this treat as an after school snack this week. It’s such an easy treat to make and it’s one that I really don’t mind them helping with.
To make this Halloween treat mix or “Boo Mix” I get out a big sheet pan, line it with parchment paper and add ingredients one at a time. We include popcorn, pretzel sticks, and marshmallows. You could also include Chex mix, chocolate chips or candy-coated chocoate. I gently shake the pan to make sure everything is pretty even. If you have it layered too much the chocolate won’t stick to the bottom pieces very well. Then, I melt a bar or two of white chocolate in the microwave stirring it every 15-30 seconds until it’s smooth. I spoon the chocolate over top in a drizzle fashion. Then the girls add sprinkles.
We used a really cute Halloween sprinkle combo that had eyeballs – that was their favorite thing.
It’s a fun Halloween tradition that I hope they remember for years to come and maybe make with their children one day. It also just really fun for them and they’re always so proud of the treat they made.
We store this in ziploc bags so the popcorn stays fresh.
