Our 29 Palms Rental Living Room
I desperately need to update you all on our lives out here in Twentynine Palms. It’s been such a change and we are mostly adjusted to our new home and town. I’ll save the details of that post for another day because today I wanted to share with y’all how our rental living room is coming together.

The biggest struggle for me in decorating this space is the wall color. It’s a creamy white with a yellow tint. It’s a very typical color for military base housing. In the past, we’ve painted but I’m not sure I’m up to it this time. I’d love to paint the living room white as we had in our Florida house, but that would make the trim and doors look even more yellow. Because of that, I’ll avoid painting it white but may consider a gray down the road – if you have a good one send it my way.

We have two new things that I’m loving (not including the new same couch) are these cane back chairs and our new rug. Our old rug was damaged in the move so it gave me an opportunity to go in a little different direction by getting a lighter rug. I think it brightens up the whole space.

You might remember the art print above the sofa, it’s a photo I took then had framed at Framebridge. It’s available as a free printable here. I’m loving the texture of these blue pillows. I plan to add a pair of navy pillows to add a little more contrast.

We hung plain white curtains on all the windows to hide the vertical blinds (my least favorite thing about rental living). I also found this pair of stools that have been so great. They are multiuse, we’ve been using them as side tables and stools for the girls.
I look forward to sharing all the rental updates as we get them ticked off our (never-ending) list. We are thrilled it’s starting to feel like home.
