I’m sure you all are rolling your eyes are you scroll through Pinterest and see Christmas, Christmas everywhere. I know, it’s early. But time is flying and these handmade projects take time so starting early is a must. At least that’s how I’m excusing myself š
I love oversized wall art. These giant popsicle stick snowflakes are the perfect oversized wall art for the holidays. And hello, popsicles sticks = cheap craft! Plus, they are super easy to make. I think that meets all of my holiday crafting criteria.

Supplies needed:
You can google some snowflake designs if you’d like or just wing it. I headed to google images…
Just as you would imagine, you simplyĀ use your hot glue gun to attach the popsicle sticks together. Start in the middle and work out that way things stay as even as possible.
Before spray painting the snowflakes, make sure you removed all of the glue strings (spider webbies as my daughter calls them).
I sprayed mine with a layer of gold paint and then a layer of gold glitter paint for a little bling.
Popsicle stick snowflakes are a thing now, can’t you tell? They are really cute on the wall. Since they are light – gluedots or double sided tape is enough to hold them up. I think they would also be great hanging from the ceiling for a holiday party. Now you can go make a hundred or so š

I keep trying to get over here to this post and comment on how much I LOVE these snowflakes, but kept getting sidetracked! Just doing some stumbling and was so happy to read your post. Pinning these cuties!
Clever, clever, clever! Thanks for sharing! I also wanted to give you a heads up that tonight, Saturday night, at 8PM, there’s an all new linky party in town called Found & Foraged. We debuted last week and would love for you to join in the fun! You can find us at http://houseofhipsters.com/
What brand of gold spray paint did you use? And how would you recommend attaching them to the wall without it damaging the wall?
Doing this today! I have one space that I need filled with something large and this is perfectā¦and cheap!! Thanks for the inspiration!
I was wondering how you get the snowflakes to stick to the wall without putting a nail hole into it. Thank you!
Hi Billie, I used some 3M mounting strips, cut in half. The snowflakes are really light so a couple strips was all I needed.
How did you get yours to stay together? I’ve made them and they turned out AMAZING! I hung one on our door and it looked great. My problem was the sticks kept coming unstuck. Any helpful suggestions?
Hey Jess, are you using hot glue? I had no problem keeping mine together with hot glue. If you’re still having a hard time maybe try using some gorilla glue? Small amounts.
Can I hang them outdoors from my trees
I don’t see why not! I’d probably spray some poly on it to protect them from the elements but I think that’s a great idea.
