We bought a house…
We bought a house.
Eeep. I still can’t believe it!
It’s an adorable home here in Florida that feels as though it was meant for our family.
It might seem like an odd decision for us since we aren’t permanent here and we don’t know when the next time we’ll be moving is but we weighed the pros and cons and decided to go for it.
Matt and I have been considering purchasing here in Florida since before we moved here. We knew it could be a potential investment. Once we arrived here and got a feel for what areas we liked we took the plunge. Our base house really is lovely, in fact probably the best military housing we’ve ever lived in. However, it’s missing the essential backyard since we live in a town home. Not only that, we just love DIY so having a home of our own opens up tons of possibilities when it comes to renovations. If you come here for rental decor ideas – don’t worry, there will still be plenty of temporary ideas to share since we know we won’t be here forever.
A little scoop on the house:
It’s an all brick ranch style house. Four bedrooms with a huge back yard. It was a foreclosure that sat empty for a long time so it needs a lot of cosmetic work right off the bad (new floors, serious cleaning, all new paint, etc.)
We closed on the house just a few days after Millie was born and we’ve been working on it since. I can’t wait to share all the ideas I have for this project.
If you haven’t noticed – we like to keep our lives as busy as humanly possible. So we thought why not buy a house right around the time our new baby is to be born. That will be fun. But really, we couldn’t be happier (or feel more blessed) with all of the balls we have in the air right now.
Congratulations!! How awesome for you and your family to have a place all your own!! You will love being able to decorate without restraint!! I can’t wait to see what you do with your new home. Blessings to you and your family.
Thanks so much Debbie! There will still be a little restraint since we won’t be here forever and hope to rent it out in a few years but it will be really fun to throw some paint on the walls and pick new flooring, etc. Can’t wait to share all about it!
Congratulations! My daughter is moving to Amelia Island, so I will be flying into Jacksonville. Good luck with this venture. I will be following along for great ideas for her home.
Amelia Island is really lovely! We took a day trip up there this summer and truly enjoyed ourselves. Jacksonville is really growing on me! Thanks for following along, Margie 🙂
Congrats Chelsea! Can’t wait to see how you make your new home your own!
Thanks Jessica!! I’m soooo excited 🙂
Congratulations! What a beautiful new chapter in your lives!
Thanks Jennifer, it really is! It’s a very fun season of life right now – busy but beautiful!
Oh my goodness! SO exciting girl! It looks beautiful on the exterior and I can’t wait to see what you do on the inside. You are seriously wonderwoman. I don’t know how you do it all, especially with a new little one!
bahahhahaha!!! I don’t know about wonderwoman – I think crazy woman is more like it! We always seem to do life in chunks – all the big stuff happens at once 🙂 That’s what makes it fun I suppose! Thanks girl 🙂
Congratulations, Chelsea! I absolutely can’t wait to see what you co with this place! xo
Thanks friend! I’m super excited!
Yay! That is so exciting! Congratulations! I know as a military family it can be nerve racking trying to decide to buy or not to buy. There is nothing better though than having your own space to call your own!
