Where I Find Inexpensive Flush Mount Ceiling Light Fixtures

One of the worst things about living in military housing is the awful light fixtures. There is no bigger tell that you are living in rental or base quarters than the cheapo light fixtures that they stick you with (there’s never any light choices). After nearly two years in our current home, I had done almost everything I could do to make it feel like home. Almost everything, because I hadn’t touched the light fixtures. Finally I thought, what the heck, I’m going to invest a few hundred dollars and swap out these light fixtures I hate for something I love. Even though we don’t own this house, the light fixtures will be mine so I can take them with me when I go to the next house! Changing out the old and dated light fixtures with these inexpensive light fixtures made such a difference in our current rental home that it made it a worthy investment.

When I was hunting for the perfect flush mount light fixture – I came across quite a few that were just too good to keep to myself. So, today, I’m sharing a round of several inexpensive flush mount light fixture options that are affordable and so perfect for a home you own or even one you rent!

Inexpensive light fixtures

You can see the truly builder grade and inexpensive flush mount ceiling light fixtures that I swapped out in my living room here. They were the cheap $15 frosted glass round fixtures that you can buy at pretty much any hardware store. They are an unfortunate rental staple. I removed the old lighting, stored it safely in a box and swapped it out for these more modern flush mount light fixtures and I’m so happy with the way they turned out. I have another blog post all about swapping lighting in a rental if you are interested, you can read more about that!
