Bathroom Shelf Ideas

The bathroom is one of the most important rooms in your home. Unfortunately, bathrooms are often among the smallest rooms in a house. This can make it difficult to organize all the essentials you need in this critical space. This is where bathroom shelves come into play. Shelves provide extra the desired storage space, while also adding to the overall decor of the room. Here I will share with you some of the inspiration I used while I was looking to add shelves to my bathroom recently. These examples helped me in selecting a beautiful and useful bathroom shelf.

Maximizing Space in a Small Bathroom

When it comes to maximizing space in a small bathroom, there are a few things you can do to make the most of the existing space.

Declutter

The first step to maximizing space in a small bathroom is to declutter. Get rid of any items you don’t use or need, and organize the leftover items.

Use Vertical Space

Make use of your vertical space by installing shelves, cabinets, and other storage solutions on the walls. This will help free up floor space and make your bathroom feel much more spacious.

Consider Minimalist Decor

Choosing minimalist decor can help make your bathroom feel more spacious. Use simple, clean lines and neutral colors to create a calming and open space.

Bathroom Storage Ideas That are not Shelves

Wicker Baskets

Wicker baskets are a great way to add extra storage space to your bathroom. You can hang them, place them on your new bathroom shelves, or place them on the floor. If you could see inside my bathroom now you’d see quite a few baskets I use them to store everything from towels to cleaning supplies.

Corner shelves are another great and unique way to maximize space in a small bathroom. You can install them in the corner of the room or in the shower area. They can be used to store towels, toiletries, and all the other bathroom essentials you have.

Over-the-Toilet Shelves

Over-the-toilet shelves are perfect for small bathrooms that don’t have a lot of storage or closet space. The space over a toilet is typically used to hang decor items so placing a shelf in that area is a great way to utilize this traditionally underused space.

Place Freestanding Shelves

Freestanding shelves are an easy way to add storage space to your home’s bathroom. Simply choose your favorite shelving unit and place it in your bathroom. I have always been a sucker for IKEA shelves since they are easy, cheap, and customizable.
