Christmas Home Tour Part 1: Living Room
It’s Christmas home tour week on the blog. This year I’m splitting my home tour up into two parts. My dear friend Krista from The Happy Housie organized the “All Through The House” Holiday Home Tour and I’m thrilled to be joining in.
Last week I shared a quick tour of my front porch decorated for Christmas. Today, I’m sharing my living room, all decked out for Christmas. This year I struggled with which direction to go with my decor. I toyed with the idea of doing a colorful tree and decor because my daughter is showing a lot of interest in Christmas decorating and having a perfectly color coordinated tree makes it difficult to mix in those handmade ornaments. P ended up decorating her own little tree in her room and wasn’t very interested in the big tree after all. Ultimately, I ended up sticking with a more traditional look.
I went more neutral with my tree this year using just white, gold, and silver ornaments and ribbon. The rest of the space has a sprinkle of Christmas red mixed in with the blues that I love.

I ended up rearranging my entire living room a few days ago and I’m really enjoying the new arrangement. As always, colorful throw pillows play a major role in my decor. These striped pillow colors are a favorite and they provide the perfect pop of red to make this space festive.
I moved my Lindsay Letters It Is Well canvas over above the console and added these two mini trees. New this year, is this precious nativity set.
I wasn’t sure how all of the blue would look with the bright Christmas red but I think it works in this space.
We just completed a major makeover on our fireplace and built a surround and mantel. I dreamed of decorating it for Christmas so I could decorate a mantel!
My favorite round brass mirror looks perfect in this spot and felt garlands are fabulous year round.
Here’s a closer look at our tree. Swoon.
I found the most beautiful blue and white wrapping paper at Target so I went for it. I love all of the white under the tree.
I mentioned in this post that we keep a basket of Christmas books under our tree to easy access to festive reading material. See my favorite Christmas books for kids here.
